"I was nervous to start my internship here at International Action since I am the youngest intern they have ever had. That feeling however, quickly changed. Everyone here was very welcoming; at times, I didn't even notice the age difference. During my time here, I started a new project in the Dominican Republic, hopefully resulting in clean water for the Haitian workers on the sugar plantations (who live in abominable conditions). International Action has provided me with new and useful skills that will last me my whole life. I am very glad that I was able to experience this amazing opportunity and hope to return to this office in the near future."

"I will forever be grateful to have interned for International Action. The staff, morning coffee, reading about Haiti, foundation research, family atmosphere, and trip to the Hill for Congressional meetings will always be in my heart. I had the opportunity to take on my own project — making short movies for the YouTube channel, Haitiwater. Watching hours of recording films from past trip to Haiti provided me with a true sense of urgency to help Haiti's sanitation problem. Clean water is truly the basic human need, yet it is uncommon, if not nowhere to be seen in Haiti. I personally urge you, future philanthropist, to intern or volunteer and help International Action in providing safe, sustainable, clean water for all Haitians. I left International Action with a second home, literally."

"International Action has taught me the value of hard work and determination. I got the opportunity to work with people who are truly passionate about helping the people of Haiti. It was an incredible learning experience that I will carry with me throughout my life. This internship has given me a greater appreciation for the people who work tirelessly to change the world. It was an honor working with the Interntional Action team."

"Interning at International Action has been such an amazing experience. From researching donors and foundations to attending hearings on Capitol Hill, I feel very involved in the organization as well as in D.C. I have learned so much about Haiti and the rest of the world, and the importance of public health. I love the friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We work hard, but we definitely have fun! I came to International Action with the hope of gaining some experience, and I have left with that and so much more."

"I am so grateful for my experience as an intern at International Action. I learned a lot about how a non-profit organization is run, which is important to me as I would like to work in this area in the future. I got to see the incredible impacts of clean water and what is being done to bring safe drinking water to Haiti and communities around the world. The experiences I gained along with the amazing staff and other interns made for a fun and rewarding summer!"

"I joined International Action with the intent of getting some practical training but I left with much more. My various assignments and projects allowed me to gain invaluable experiences in the fields of advocacy, policy analysis, mobilization, agenda setting, fundraising, grant writing, and much more. The family oriented atmosphere added a dimension to my internship that I could not have had anywhere else. I will always remain a part of your organization in solidarity with the impoverished people of Haiti and provide them with the most vital basic necessity-clean water."

"Working at International Action is a very valuable experience to me. I am continuously learning new things about public health and international development issues. The combination of variety of projects, smart guidance, and very friendly staff are indispensable to the kind of work environment I would always want to be a part of."

"I am so happy that I got the chance to intern with International Action. My supervisors give me substantial responsibilities and allow me to translate documents, go to events on Capitol Hill, and network with other Washington D.C. non-profits. Our director buys as many books as he can on Haiti, and all of the interns are constantly reading. Our office functions as a little family and we are included in business lunches and conferences. The friendly vibe of the office is mixed with a sense of responsibility and action."

"Best internship ever! Really, I always look forward to going to work--the people here are so friendly. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable about international affairs and what's going on in the Capitol (and Capital). There's always something to talk about! I've learned so much since I've been here about life in Haiti, how non-profit non-governmental organizations work, politics, the impact of clean water (and how much we take it for granted here). I feel so lucky to be interning at IA because of the atmosphere and the issues that we're dealing with, including global health, international aid, service, francophone languages, and how to get involved in DC. I feel like everything I do actually does make a difference; it's great."

"My experience at International Action has been very rewarding. I believe that this experience is the key that will start me in the right direction. I enjoy the comfortable and welcoming office atmosphere. Interning for IA is personally beneficial to me, because I myself am Haitian and I am able to contribute a lot to this organization. This is a great way for me to help other people in need and I am glad that I am part of the IA team because I feel so personally connected to the project."
